About Barbara (Blaze) Lazarony

My Story

My journey in counseling and therapy was anything but straightforward. It was a winding road filled with personal struggles, health battles, and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. However, each challenge I faced ignited a fire within me to support others on their own life journeys.

In the early stages of my career, fresh out of college with a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I excelled in various roles, leading and mentoring sales and stock associates. In the fast-paced world of retail, I eventually became responsible for managing $2.5 billion in sales across 42 retail locations in the United States. I worked with top executives and had diverse experience in staffing, finance, operations, and human resources. It was a HUGE job, and I loved working in corporate America.

From the outside, my twenty-year career seemed flawless. However, I neglected my own personal well-being in pursuit of executive success. The concept of work/life balance was foreign to me.

Life took a turn when I became a patient myself at the age of thirty-eight, battling cancer and facing mental health diagnoses, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I refused to let these setbacks define me. Instead, they fueled a passion to better understand myself and how I wanted to live and make a difference in the world! And in addition, I learned how to slow down, focus on my deepest desires, and how to meditate.

My personal journey led me to become an Advanced Certified Transformational Coach through training with Martha Beck and the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology. I was also invited to be a guest lecturer for eight years at Ernst & Young’s Leadership Seminar at California State University, Northridge. I also earned a Journal to the Self Facilitator certification and published four collaborative books.

My journey ignited a passion for continuous learning and a deep understanding that everyone is unique. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with countless people, and I find both people and business equally fascinating. While life and business coaching for eighteen years, I realized I wanted to support people in achieving lasting success, fulfillment, and healing on a deeper level. So, I pursued a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and became a therapist and counselor.
